I had an exceptional experience today with Brain Dempsey at Jewett Orthopedic and wanted to write some heartfelt words of gratitude and praise.

I just moved here to Central Florida after 21 years in South Florida. Due to spinal disc injuries incurred during this strenuous relocation, I soon found myself in physical therapy at Jewett Orthopedic.

I am myself a massage therapist of nine years, a graduate of one the finest massage schools in the country (Educating Hands, Miami), and I've been very fortunate to have received regular bodywork in many modalities over the last nine years, all from exceptional therapists who have been in the profession between 10 and 30 years. I am also a person living 10 years with Lyme Disease, and I rely heavily on massage therapy as a management tool for musculoskeletal/myofascial pain.

When I learned that the massage therapy at Jewett was supplied by a third-party contractor, I admit that I hesitated and almost did not make the appointment. Wary of a Florida market flooded with vocational school massage therapists and unfamiliar with the reputation of Massage Timeout!, I was skeptical. Since my insurance was covering the session, I decided to go ahead and take the risk. What a great decision that turned out to be!

Brian's work today was really extraordinary. His positive energy and professionalism put me instantly at ease, and within 60 seconds of the session, it was clear to me that I was (literally) in best of hands. His assessments and techniques were intuitive, precise, dimensional, confident, and, most importantly, effective.

Thank you, Brian, and thank you, Massage Timeout!. It's comforting and inspiring to see that in spite of the proliferation of "McMassage" therapy in this country, there are still exceptional practitioners like Brian out there, elevating our profession and helping people improve their health and well-being through massage therapy.

The effects of extensive surgeries when I was a teenager left me with what I thought was permanent pain, something I'd simply have to live with the rest of my life. It was because of Barbara's caring nature and extensive expertise that I was able to overcome my fears about deep tissue massage, and I can honestly say that I haven't been this pain-free in 40 years.

It is magic, and I am truly grateful.

And she's funny!

In December 2010, I fell on some hardwood stairs. I got a concussion and also injured my left backside. The injury was so severe that I was unable to lie on my left side for a month because of the pain. I couldn't sit on soft chairs, and it was very painful to sit in the car because there was pressure on the swelling. I had to walk very gingerly, with very small steps, because of restriction and fear of falling. I also had a horizontal crease across my rear where the muscles were severed.

When I went to see Barbara, I noticed immediately that I could walk better. Four days after the massage, I was able to lie on my left side for the first time since the accident. I am grateful to God, because if I hadn't gone to see Barbara, I might have been permanently restricted in my walking.

She was the right person at the right time.

I've worked alongside many massage therapists, but Barb is definitely one of the best. Whenever I get the opportunity for a massage, you can bet I'm calling on Barb.

Thanks for all your help.

As an avid marathon runner, I look forward to my visits with Barbara. I depend on Barbara's massages to work out any problems—during my training so I can run pain free, before the marathon so I can perform my best, and after the marathon so I can recover quickly.

Barbara understands athletes' bodies, their drive, and their determination to reach their goals. She is always there to help with massage to keep us on our goal paths, to give words of advice for training and words of encouragement to get us through.

For all athletes, I highly recommend that you visit Barbara so you can perform your best.

I have taught and played tennis in the Orlando area for over 20 years. Barbara's massages help to keep me in great shape on the court. I suffer from occasional migraines, and she was able to give me relief in a few minutes of therapy.

I would have to say this was the best massage I have ever had. The feeling really cannot be expressed in words. The atmosphere was an excellent addition to a wonderful experience. I would recommend a massage with Barb as the perfect gift.

I had crippling pain in the thumb of my left hand for more than six months. I consulted with several professionals who told me I had everything from trigger finger, to arthritis and myelin sheath damage— and that the only cure was surgery.

I saw Barb in January 2008. She worked on my hand for ten minutes. The therapy was uncomfortable, but it was worth it, because I have had no pain since! The pain is gone!

Barb knows her stuff, and she is awesome! It seemed like a miracle.
